The Municipality of Kincardine is recognizing the work of Heritage Kincardine with a new plaque to celebrate the salt industry.
The plaque installed at MacPherson Park highlights the story of the 19th century salt industry and its role in shaping Kincardine’s growth.
An unveiling ceremony was held on August 23rd as part of the Marine Heritage Festival with Mayor Kenneth Craig says Heritage Kincardine has done incredible work to preserve and share the stories which define who we are as a community.
Craig adds the plaque not only honours our history but also gives residents and visitors a chance to connect with the people and industries which built Kincardine.
