That was also when the Remarkable Citizens Award winners were to be announced.
The decision comes as the province moved back into Step Two of the Reopening Road Map on Wednesday.
In a news release, Thompson says it is unfortunate that the event had to be postponed but needed to be done to ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
She says nominees scheduled to be recognized with be notified accordingly and special consideration will be given to those who went beyond the call of duty to help their community through the COVID 19 pandemic.
