Ontario investing .5 Million to help address rise in hate incidents against Religious & Minority Groups

The Province of Ontario is investing $25.5 million dollars over 2 years to help address the rise of hate incidents against religious and minority groups.

The new “Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant” will help faith-based and cultural organizations enhance or implement measures to ensure community spaces remain safe and secure.

It will provide up to $10,000 to help the group better protect & secure their facilities from hate-motivated incidents, graffiti, vandalism and other damage.

Money can be used for building upgrades, enhanced locks, installing cameras, training, security assessments, cyber security measures and more.

Eligible organizations include religious & spiritual communities, First Nation, Inuit, Métis and urban indigenous organizations, cultural organizations including pride groups, black, asian and other diverse organizations .
