As another long weekend comes in, OPP across the province including in the West Region will be out and about making sure drivers and boaters are staying safe.
Over the last 10 years, Labour Day weekend has seen more crashes and fatalites on OPP patrolled roads, trails and waterways than any other long weekend.
Since 2015, there has been 69 crashes and 76 deaths on Labour Day weekends.
These deaths have mainly been attributed to impaired driving, speeding, inattentiveness and not wearing a seat belt.
On the water, the deaths have been a result of not wearing a life jacket.
OPP say the choices we make have impact, to save a life or take one.
