OPP Inspector says officers are keeping an eye on motorists in school zones this week


In case you haven’t heard, many students and teachers are back in school this week.

OPP and other police forces are ramping up patrols in schools zones making sure everyone is driving safely.

South Bruce OPP Inspector Krista Miller says drivers should especially around school buses and crosswalks.

Miller says the penalty for not stopping when the red lights on the school buses are flashing is a maximum of $2,000 and six demerit points.

She also points out that there are traffic calming measures in place on roads in school zones to remind motorists to slow down.
