Constable Kevin Martin says in addition to keeping an emergency kit in your vehicle, there are some things to keep in mind when you are out on the road.
One of them is considering whether to pass a snow plow.
During a 48-hour period where there was a severe storm in the middle of January (11th and 12th), Martin says they had 28 calls for vehicles either in a ditch or involved in a collision.
He says that is on top of other calls for service and that puts pressure on police resources.
