OPP are increasing their efforts to prevent motorcycle deaths by taking to the skies.
Police say with an increase of 56 per cent in motorcycle fatalities who add almost all are preventable that OPP have expanded with their Cessna airplane.
More motorcycle crashes from last week bring the total deaths to 39 setting the stage for a possible 10 year high on OPP patrolled roads.
With the Cessna 206, the airplane is another tool to spot and track motorcyclists and other drivers speeding as well as detecting other aggressive behaviors such as following too closely or making unsafe lane changes.
OPP say riders and motorists need to share the road with motorcyclists being the most vulnerable on the road, even when they drive safely.
