OPP urging drivers to slow down during winter months

Now that we are starting to see a consistent amount of snow, South Bruce OPP are advising motorists to drive carefully on the roads this winter.

Constable Kevin Martin says the best advice he can offer people at this time of the year is to go slow.

Martin says drivers should also be clearing any snow that is on their vehicle before they pull out of the driveway or parking lot.

He says motorists should also keep an emergency kit in their vehicles in the event they get stuck in snow.

Martin says during severe winter storms, police and other emergency resources will be stretched thin and may not come to your aid as quickly as you would hope.
