With over $131,000 raised from this years Coldest Night of the Year Walks in Bruce and Grey Counties, United Way has much to celebrate on the success.
The walks took place on February 22nd which brought record low temperatures and snowy conditions for the event, the coldest on record across Kincardine, Saugeen Shores, Meaford and Grey Highlands.
A total of $131,405 was raised in support to fight homelessness, food insecurity and poverty.
Saugeen Shores raised $60,374 for Housing, Hunger and Mental Health Support.
Meaford brought in $19,387 for Sustain Vital Outreach Services.
Kincardine raised $37,319 to Feed and Support Families and Grey Highlands raised $14,415 for Local Wellness and Emergency Support.
United Way Bruce Grey says these funds have directed supported the Utility Assistance Program, the Financial Literacy Program, 211 Information and Referral Services, The Outreach Fund and Backpack Program.
