The incident occurred in the afternoon of Sept. 27 when police responded to a two vehicle collision along Highway 21.
During the investigation officers located a loaded firearm inside one of the involved vehicles.
As a result a 26-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman are jointly charged with several offences including: possession of a restricted firearm, occupying a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm inside, and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.
The man faces an additional four charges in relation to a previous release order, stemming from weapons charges dating back to January 2021.
The man remains in custody pending a bail hearing while the woman was released with a future court date.
