The Point Clark Lighthouse has received funding from Parks Canada to help revitalize the over 160-year-old building.
The Township of Huron-Kinloss reported they were approved for $20,000 in funding along with a $5,000 contingency fund to revitalize the lighthouse’s flooring, lighting, as well as conduct a small chimney removal, and a install a window in the oil shed.
Council approved the agreement for the funding which ends on March 21, 2023.
The upgrades are a part of the larger Point Clark Lighthouse revitalization project that will update the museum. They are still raising money toward their $200,000 goal.
