Hanover Police have arrested a professional shoplifter, found to be a Romanian National.
On February 5th, Hanover Police were called to a theft in progress at a pharmacy on 10th Street.
A man was confronted by staff for not paying for items and fled on foot.
The suspect was then seen in a vehicle with West Grey Police attempting a stop but fled at a high rate of speed before the vehicle lost control and slid into a ditch near Allan Park.
The 30 year old was transferred to Hanover Police custody with around $4000 in merchandise recovered.
The 30 year old man, a Romanian National residing in Richmond Hill faces multiple charges as police continue to investigate if the suspect is linked a Romanian crime group of professional shoplifters based out of the GTA.
