The Order came in response to inspections in late October in the area. They focused on requirements under the Province’s Reopening Ontario Act. One of the requirements is that restaurants that provide indoor dining are required to ensure each person dining inside is required to show proof of identification, of being fully vaccinated or having proof of a valid exemption.
The business, identified as Buck & Jo’s in Wingham has pending charges against it following a visit by Public Health officials. Indoor dining has been closed but the business can continue delivery and takeout as ways continue offering their food.
Medical Office of Health for Huron-Perth Dr. Miriam Klassen says that more than 1000 food premises (including 290 indoor dining restaurants) have been working hard under challenging conditions to keep workers and patrons safe. She adds that Public Health is grateful to the many operators in their region who continue to work with HPPH in meeting provincial requirements.
