As Christmas arrives and families will be gathering, Grey Bruce Public Health is urging safety as the respiratory season has been a difficult one this year.
Respiratory illness season typically starts in the fall and will carry into the winter with common viruses being the flu, RSV and COVID-19.
Grey Bruce Public Health Physician Consultant, Dr. Brittany Graham says these types of settings for Christmas gatherings make it easy for respiratory viruses to spread.
Public health says getting vaccinated against the flu is an effective defence against these viruses and helps to reduce the risk of developing serious illness.
