Remembering the Humboldt Broncos Tragedy 5 Years Ago

Remembering the Humboldt Broncos Tragedy 5 Years Ago

The bells ring in Humboldt, Saskatchewan today to remember the lives lost during the Humboldt Broncos bus crash tragedy that occurred 5 years ago today.

The church bells at St Augustine Church in the town will ring 29 times, one for each person who was on board the bus on April 6th 2018 as the Broncos Jr A club was heading to a playoff game in Nipawin.

Sixteen people died with 13 being injured after a transport truck blew past a stop sign and into the bus.

The bells at the church will ring at 4:50pm, around the time the crash occurred.

A tribute service will also be held at the Elgar Peterson Arena where the Broncos play for those who wish to pay respects as organizers hope the event is more to honour those affected and not to feel like another funeral.
