They recently received guidance from the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
As of this past Monday, homes can increase the number of caregivers from two to four, and social day absences can resume if residents are vaccinated.
There will still be only two visitors allowed per resident, per day.
The County’s Director of Long-Term Megan Garland says they are excited that things are slowly returning to normal.
She says there are more measures that the Ministry will implement on February 21st as part of the reopening plan, and will be monitoring the number of cases with the Omicron variant still prevalent.
Bruce County operates two long-term care homes, Brucelea Haven in Walkerton and Gateway Haven in Wiarton.
