Given recent assessments at the Rocklyn Arena, the Municipality of Grey Highlands says there will not be ice available at the rink this season.
The assessment confirmed the facility needs significant remediation and building improvements and as a result the ice won’t be going in.
Findings confirmed challenges facing the facility go beyond mould remediation and include mould impacted buildings materials, ventilation deficiencies, long standing moisture related deterioration and asbestos containing materials requiring specialized handling to be addressed.
The municipality says they remain committed to keeping residents informed as additional information becomes available.
