The Town of Saugeen Shores has broken ground on an affordable housing development.
The partnership including Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce and Wilson Developments is a step forward to expanding access to attainable home ownership and addressing local housing needs.
The development at Concession 10 will feature 28 below market homes aimed for low to moderate income households.
21 of the units will be sold by Wilson Developments, five transferred to Habitat for Humanity and two given to the town to support ongoing efforts to increase affordable housing supply.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says they are creating new opportunities for individuals and families to put down roots in the community.
