The Town of Saugeen Shores is launching an Environmental Assessment.
This is being done under the Environmental Assessment Act for the proposed expansion of the town’s current Southampton Landfill.
The approved capacity of the Southampton Landfill Site is projected to be exhausted between 2030-2032 with the town working to address the limited space at the landfill site.
The town’s proposed expansion by around 725,000 cubic metres can be accommodated at the existing site without needing to acquire additional lands. Comments will be accepted until April 10th.
