The SIU has cleared a Saugeen Shores Police Officer of an incident with a collision and a tree.
On November 2nd the SIU was notified of an incident with a 20 year old man and 18 year old woman being hospitalized.
The officer attempted to stop the driver of a Honda Civic after he noticed a damaged windshield. The driver sped off with the officer disengaging from the chase.
When the roadway became a farmers access road the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed head on into the trunk of a tree.
Due to the police chase before the crash the SIU investigated but ruled there was no criminal wrongdoing by the officer.
