Saugeen Shores Police Launching Operation Spring Cleaning on Friday

The Saugeen Shores Police Service announced they are launching Operation Spring Cleaning on Friday, May 6th.

The education and enforcement initiative will target vehicle equipment, permits, and licensing.

The Force says with the Ontario government recently eliminating plate fees drivers are still required to renew their plates every one to two years, at no cost and confirm valid insurance and pay outstanding tolls and municipal fines.

Officers will also be looking out for such things as loud or improper mufflers, mudguards, plates improperly displayed, windshield coatings, and unsafe vehicles.

The Saugeen Shores Police Services says to follow their social media accounts for tips, rules and regulations which will be given out during the campaign.

Operation Spring Cleaning is expected to last until Thursday, May 19th.
