The theft occurred on December 14th when Officers were called to investigate a break and enter at T.A. Brown Funeral Home in Port Elgin. Two sets of cremated remains were stolen.
It was suspected that the responsible person or persons were unaware of what they had stolen as they were in non descript boxes.
The remains were returned anonymously and it is not known if the person who returned the urns was involved in the break in.
The incident remains under investigation.
