Representatives from the Town of Saugeen Shores are returning home from the Rural Ontario Municipal Association held in Toronto earlier this week.
The conference acted as a chance for Ontario’s rural leaders to discuss local priorities and develop solutions to rural challenges.
Municipal staff and officials had the chance to chat with provincial ministries with Mayor Luke Charbonneau, Councilor Dave Myette, CAO Kara Van Myall and Manager of Strategic Initiatives Jill Roote meeting with three ministers advocating for the needs of Saugeen Shores.
These meetings included with the Ministry of Health, Minister of Public and Business Service and Procurement and the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
