Saugeen Shores reviewing By-Laws including Beach Bylaw

Saugeen Shores reviewing By-Laws including Beach Bylaw

The Town of Saugeen Shores is looking at updating some of its bylaws. One of the being reviewed is the Beach By-Law when it comes to dogs presence on the beach.

The proposal put forward by staff would including opening the beach north of High Street and South of Miramichi Bay, among others.

They are also considering options where all beaches would be open to dogs during morning and evening hours, opening new areas to them, or keeping the by-law as is.

The Current By-Law does not permit dogs on beaches within Saugeen Shores between May and October.

The fine is $100.

A dog friendly area is designated off of the Port Elgin Boat Launch Parking Lot.
