A recommendation by Town staff to the Sidewalk Patio and Sidewalk Café Encroachment Policy was approved by Council at Monday’s Committee of the Whole meeting.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says the positive reaction from businesses to the by-law made this an easy decision to make.
There were some concerns from Council about reducing the amount of insurance coverage required from businesses from $5 Million to $2 Million also recommended by Town staff.
Charbonneau says the committee did agree to the reduction but it will be reviewed each year.
