Save the Durham Hospital Rallies Political Support

Last Wednesday, a group of 60 West Grey residents attended Queen’s Park in Toronto carrying on their message to Save the Durham Hospital.

A petition signed by over 3700 citizens was signed in under 48 hours asking the province to step in and stop the South Bruce Grey Health Centre from moving inpatient beds from the Durham hospital and restrict the emergency room operating hours from 7am-5pm.

The health centre announced earlier this month the plan to move 10 beds from Durham to the Kincardine and Walkerton hospitals.

Save the Durham Hospital stating in a release they’ve received support from MPP Rick Byers as well as Liberal Health Critic MPP Adil Shamji who both voiced their support during a march through the town of Durham on May 21st.
