The Special Investigations Unit has closed its case into a 21 year old who was in custody in August in Chatsworth.
On August 8th the man was kept in cells at the Wiarton detachment following his arrest on charges of mischief and failing to comply with a release order.
While in custody he was given a dose of his anti-seizure medication and transferred the next morning for a bail hearing and given another dose of the medication.
The man suffered a seizure in cells and was taken to hospital where he was again given another dose. Shortly after returning to the detachment he suffered another seizure.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says the in video footage makes clear the mans time in custody was largely unremarkable, being supplied medication and taken to hospital after both seizures.
The seizures, Martino says are likely the result of his failure to take his medication for days prior to his arrest.
