Grace United Church in Hanover is preparing to hold a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 29th from 5 to 8 pm.
The money raised will go in support of six local athletes travelling to South Africa to represent Canada at competitions there.
One planning on making the trip is kickboxer Macy Metcalfe.
The 13-year-old tells how she got into the sport.
“I joined Golden Tiger in Hanover when I was 6 years old after I saw a girl I know in the newspaper competing for kickboxing. It made me want to try.”
Macy is set to take part in 4 competitions while there. 2 fight shows and 2 open tournaments in Cape Town.
Tickets for the spaghetti dinner fundraiser and silent auction are available for $10 for adults and $5 for youth from Golden Tiger in Hanover.
