The Saugeen Shores Police Service shared word of a generous donation by the St. Lawrence Masonic Lodge in Southampton towards the Police Service’s K9 program.
Sergeant Andy Evans says the money will go toward some needed equipment for the team.
“The donation goes to help our K9 program. The general costs, equipment, vet bills, etcetera. Immediate need for our K9 program is a search harness Constable Luscombe needs so the donation will be very well suited to support that purchase.”
Sergeant Evans says the program itself exists due to the generosity of the community.
“One of our amazing community members, Abbie Bolton, who sadly passed away a couple years ago, was a community support and instrumental to bringing the K9 program back.”
K9 Services is Police Constable Erik Luscombe and K9 Riker. They have been patrolling Saugeen Shores since 2020.
