Mental Health Matters Wingham is gearing up for a coming workshop all around suicide awareness and intervention.
The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training or ASIST is a two day course where participants are able to learn and practice life saving suicide intervention skills.
Shannon Mercer, Founder of Mental Health Matters Wingham says with the help of donations they can lower the cost of this workshop which provides a tool that something everyone should have.
“Really everybody in the community should have those skills to be able to help themselves and help other people and finances being a roadblock is not great so we try very hard to either subsidize or fully fund these training sessions that we offer in our community.” said Mercer.
The workshop will run over the course of October 4th and 5th at FE Madill Secondary. The cost for the workshop is $80.
