Howard, Epping among three teams confirmed for next February’s Tankard in Port Elgin

Three men’s curling teams will be in Port Elgin next February for the Ontario Men’s Curling Championships.

Reigning champion John Epping, former champ Glenn Howard, and recent Port Elgin Superspiel champion Pat Farris are set to take part in the 2022 Port Elgin Chrysler Ontario Tankard presented by Bruce Power at the Plex.

Spokesman Dave Middleton expects to have a great field at the Tankard especially with two of the best curling teams in Ontario.

Middleton says they had sold over 400 mid-week ticket packages even before the three teams committed to the tournament.

Five more teams will qualify, two through a cashspiel in Collingwood later this month (December 17-19) and three more at an open qualifier in the first week of January (January 7-9) in Welland.

The winner of the Tankard will represent Ontario at the Tim Horton’s Brier Canadian Men’s Curling Championship in Lethbridge in March.
