Today is International Day of Women & Girls in Science

With today being International Day of Women and Girls in Science local Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson took to social media to tip her virtual hat to some amazing ladies, both past and present, that she says she’s come to admire for their dedication to Animal, Food and Crop Sciences in Ontario.

Named for admiration were Perth East Rural Councillor and Part of a Farm Family Amanda Brodhagen, Farmer and Crop Researcher Kim Jo Bliss, Founder and CEO of Loft 32 Crystal Mackay and Champion of Agriculture and Rural affairs Peggy Knapp.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a day declared by the United Nations back in 2015 to raise awareness in order for women and girls to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science.
