A Palmerston resident is facing numerous charges after attempting to evade Huron County OPP, including allegedly almost hitting an officer, following a traffic stop last week.
According to police, an officer conducted a traffic stop of a minivan on Church Street in Wroxeter on Jan. 10 around 10 a.m.
The driver failed to stop for police and sped away at a high rate of speed. Police say the driver then turned around and drove at the officer who took evasive action to avoid being hit.
Additional officers attended and located the vehicle and driver a short time later. Police say by the time the driver was located, they were showing signs of impairment.
A 35 year old man from Palmerston has been charged with operation while impaired, flight from police, dangerous operation, possession of meth and failure to comply with a probation order.
The accused has since been released with a February date in a Goderich Court.
