Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple Charges Against 47 Year Old

A traffic stop in Hanover has led to drug trafficking and other charges against one person.

On May 16th at around 7:19pm, Hanover Police responded to a suspicious vehicle parked in the 100 block of 12th Avenue.

Police found a man in the drivers seat with the engine running but the man did not properly identify himself and was uncooperative with officers.

While trying to arrest the man he resisted and tried to flee on foot but was stopped.

A taser was used on the man during the arrest with no serious injuries reported.

Police conducted a search of the vehicle finding illicit drugs, cash, scales and drug paraphernalia.

The substances include suspected fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, meth and hydromorphone pills valued at over $30,000.

The 47 year old of Owen Sound faces multiple charges including two counts of Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Identify to Officer, Assault an Officer and multiple possession charges.

The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody.
