The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority is inviting all volunteers to help plant trees at the Stoney Island Conservation Area.
Following the success of ash tree removal to combat the emerald ash borer, the SVCA is stepping forward at the conservation area with a community tree planting on May 17th from 8am-noon.
The goal is to plant more than 1000 native trees and shrubs ranging in all sizes from small seedlings to tall stock.
Those interested in volunteering are asked to bring gloves, a shovel, drinking water and to wear sturdy footwear.
