Utopia Man faces Charges after Fatal Collision in West Grey Friday Evening

A crash in West Grey early Friday has claimed the life of a Georgian Bluffs man and a Utopia man is facing impaired driving charges.

Grey Bruce OPP responded to the scene at around 6:39 pm Friday assisted by West Grey Police, Fire and Grey County EMS.

The crash involved a motorcycle and vehicle on Highway 6. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced at a Durham Hospital.

He has been identified as 24 year old Bailey Durocher of Georgian Bluffs.

On Saturday, the Owen Sound  Senior League Baysox issued a statement to say they were saddened to hear of the accident that took his life.

Durocher was a pitcher with the senior league team.

The 62 year old driver from Utopia was arrested and charged with impaired operation 80 plus and two counts of operation causing death.

He has a future date at an Owen Sound court to answer to the charges.
