Maitland Conservation has replaced a Flood Watch statement from December 28th to a Water Safety statement across all municipalities in the Maitland and Nine Mile River watershed.
Rainfall on Sunday ranged from 20-40mm across the watershed, causing river levels to rise, though at a slower pace than typically observed under high-intensity runoff conditions and are expected to stay below flood stage.
Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing and forecasted to drop further runoff and river flows.
