The Municipality of West Grey received a report from Community Services at its most recent council meeting on the EV Charger Pilot Project.
It saw 8 level 2 EV chargers installed across the Municipality last year.
During the launch of the project there was no charge for usage of the chargers for residents with electric & hybrid vehicles.
Council approved staff’s recommendation for amendments to the parking by-law to designate certain parking spaces as EV spots and implement per hour graduated charging fees for charging going forward.
Electric and hybrid vehicle owners will get the first two hours free at the spaces and be charged $3 per hour there after.
The charging locations are at the West Grey Municipal Office, Riverside Park in Durham, Ayton Arena Complex and in Downtown Neustadt.
