According to a report to council, the second iteration of the program is going well, with 11 women having completed the math and communications upgrading.
Participants are currently receiving hands-on training from Fanshawe instructors to get them certified areas like first aid and WHMIS, so they’ll be prepared for placements beginning Nov. 14.
Employers interested in bringing Women in Carpentry participants to their workplace can attend the info session on Oct. 12 at the Hub in Ripley, starting at 7 p.m.
