Work Progressing on New Aquatic and Wellness Centre in Saugeen Shores

Work continues in Saugeen Shores for a new aquatic and wellness centre with construction well underway.

The project came to light with the population expanded by 16 per cent since the last census, reaching almost three times as quickly as the provincial growth rate.

A fundraising campaign, Just Add Water encourages those to donate including the commemorative brick campaign.

A goal of $3 million has been set for the centre which Mayor Luke Charbonneau says is very confident that goal can be reached.

“Just like always I’m pretty confident we’ll get there. We are pretty fortunate in Saugeen Shores that we have a lot of generous folks and set fundraising goals for worthy community projects we tend to meet them.” said Charbonneau.

The hope is to have the new aquatic centre opened in 2025.

So far $1.5 million has been raised towards the goal.
