Youth playing in sports will now require proof of vaccination

The province is reinstating capacity limits and have expanded proof of vaccination requirements at many indoor facilities in Ontario.

The Province announced the changes on Friday.

They included the capping of a reduction on capacity limits by 50 percent as of Sunday.

That includes restaurants, bars, retailers, shopping malls, fitness facilities and those that offer personal care such as salons.

Weddings, funerals, and religious service have been exempt from these changes.

Youth as young as 12 will now be required to show proof of vaccination in order to play sports in a recreational facility starting Monday.

As of January 4th, enhanced vaccine certificates with the QR code will be the only acceptable form of proof of vaccination.

In addition, those with a valid medical exemption will also be required to provide an enhanced certificate with a QR code starting on January 10th.
