It’s a sizable boost fro the Kincardine Hospital capital campaign with a donation of $1 million from the family of Dr. Donald Arthur Douglas Milne.
In honour of the donation as part of the first Donour Appreciation Event, a banner showcased the “Dr. D.A.D Milne Laboratory.
Alice Milne, daughter of the late Donald Arthur Douglas Milne says it was her father who helped bring a lab to the Kincardine Hospital.
“Back in the 60’s my father decided there should be a lab at the hospital. He had three shares to the Kincardine Golf Course and he recruited a man named Peter Bytheway who was a golfer and enticed him to move to Kincardine and set up the lab by giving him one of those shares.” said Milne
The hospital foundation have now reached $9.6 million of the required $18 million for the redevelopment project.
