The group 100 People Who Share held its meeting last night at Ainsdale Golf Course in Kincardine.

The group sees members attending each bring $100 in support of a charity in the community.

Three charities spoke at the meeting; the Drop-In at The Bridge, Big Brothers Big Sisters South Bruce North Huron and the Alzheimer’s Society of Grey Bruce.

After all spoke a vote was held and The Bridge was chosen to receive an estimated $7,000 donation.

Wes Larson, Executive Director of the Drop-In at the Bridge tells of the programs they offer.

“We are actually open 4 days of the week. We have a Monday drop-in.

On Thursdays for lunch, we have the teens come in from the Highschool.

On alternating Friday nights we have a drop-in for the Ukranian families that have come over.

On Saturdays we do kind of a family event.”

Charities who were not chosen at to receive the donation are able to speak again at future 100 People Who Share events to try again.

Recipients are only eligible once every 3 years for funding.

The group meets again in July and October to pick the final 2 organizations supported in 2023.
