Alex Ruff, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound announced that the initial funding of the Canada Summer Jobs program funding decisions has been released for the region for the upcoming summer.
Ruff says that over 550 local job opportunities will be available to youth with over 120 local employers representing a variety of sectors. Economic and Social Development Canada has committed approximately $1.5 million dollars in funding to Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Organizations through the CSJ program this year.
The program helps youth gain the skills and experience they need to successfully transition to the labour market by providing wage subsidies to employers to create summer employment opportunities for young aged 15 to 30.
