Grey Bruce Public Health has been notified of a fifth suspected fatal drug overdose since the start of the summer.
The fatal overdose along with 3 not fatal drug poisonings all took place between August 3rd-6th which has prompted public health to issue another Opioid alert.
This is now the 20th Opioid Alert in 2024 issued by Grey Bruce Public Health.
Two of the overdoses, including one death occurred in Owen Sound with another in Hanover and another in Grey Highlands.
Fentanyl is the substance believed to be responsible for one of the poisonings while the other three is an unknown substance.
