The Saugeen Shores Police have charged a 28-year-old Bruce County resident after they were observed driving a dirt bike on the Highway in Southampton Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were on patrol around 3:20 pm on July 19th when the rider was seen and a traffic stop was attempted. The dirt bike accelerated towards police then took off at a high rate of speed.
It was soon located on 2nd Street and the rider was arrested.
The rider faces charges of dangerous operation, driving while suspended, failure to stop for police, improper license and driving with no plate.
The dirt bike was towed and the rider was subsequently released with a future court date.
