Bruce Power is working in partnership with the Municipality of Kincardine, Town of Saugeen Shores and an independent third party firm to determine evacuation times as part of it’s ongoing emergency preparedness planning.

The task is in keeping with the company’s operating license with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. The lat time a study was done was in 2016.

The Evacuation Time Estimate evaluates the time it would take residents in various zones around the facility to evacuate in the unlikely event of a nuclear emergency. As part of the study, an independent third party firm KLD Engineering is working with the Municipalities involved to survey residents.

One member of each household is asked to participate. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete and can be found at BPsurvey.kld.engineering
