The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation wants to bring Tom to town.
They are not talking about Cruise, Hanks, or Brady.
Tom is another way of saying Computerized Tomography Scanner, or C-T scanner.
The foundation officially launched a fundraising campaign Wednesday at the Nuclear Innovation Institute in Port Elgin with a goal of $3 Million to purchase a C-T scanner for the Southampton hospital.
Co-chair of the campaign (Bruce Power’s V-P of Operational Services) James Scongack believes they are able to reach that goal.
Bruce Power is putting their $250,000, 5-year commitment to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation towards the campaign, and Shawcor (one of Bruce Power’s nuclear suppliers) is donating $20,000 to the campaign.
