Two intersections along Highway 21 in Kincardine being considered for improvements

The Ministry of Transportation are retaining a consultant for two intersections along Highway 21 in Kincardine.

Highway 21 at Russell Street and Highway 21 at Kincardine Avenue are being considered for improvements.

Stantec Consulting Limited will be tasked to complete an environmental assessment study for the two intersections.

Some of the upgrades being considered include new traffic signals, lighting, and road resurfacing.

In a news release, the Municipality say timing of the construction will depend on funding approvals.

Highway 21 and Kincardine Avenue:

  • New traffic signals
  • New illumination
  • Drainage improvements
  • Pavement resurfacing
  • Addition of left turn lane in the eastbound and westbound directions on Kincardine Avenue

Highway 21 and Russell Street:

  • New traffic signals
  • New illumination
  • Drainage improvements
  • Pavement resurfacing
  • Addition of left turn lane. northbound direction on Hwy 21
  • Addition of a future left turn lane, southbound direction on Hwy 21
  • Addition of a future right turn lane, northbound direction on Hwy 21
  • Addition of left turn lane, eastbound direction on Russell St
  • Addition of new east leg up to MTO ROW, to accommodate a future development
