OPP Lay Charges against 19 Year Old In Fail to Remain Collision

Driver was charged with Failure to Stop, Failure to Remain, Driving While Suspended and Operating without Insurance.

Huron County OPP continue to investigate  a collision involving a pedestrian that was struck and injured today in Clinton.

Just before lunch officers and paramedics responded to an automobile and pedestrian collision on Highway 8 near Smith Street North in Clinton.

Upon arriving first responders located an injured pedestrian on the road that had been struck by an eastbound car.

The injured pedestrian, a 16 year old from Huron East, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver failed to remain at the scene but later attended the Huron OPP Detachment where she was arrested and charged.

A 19 year old female from Central Huron has been charged with failure to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm, failure to remain, driving while under suspension and operating a vehicle without insurance.

The accused has been released with a court date on February 7th to answer to charges.
